About The Artist

Deicide is a painter whose work explores the emotional language of color and gesture. Working on hand-built and hand-prepared canvases, they approach painting as a layered process of memory, movement, and symbolic resonance. Vibrant marks, floral echoes, and recurring forms emerge through intuitive application and gradual refinement, creating images that are both playful and contemplative.

Their ongoing series Vibrant Whimsy explores how identity, perception, and internal experience can be translated into visual rhythm. Color becomes emotion; gesture becomes voice; each painting carried the memory of its making.

What does "hand-made canvas" mean?

That means that every step in the building process before painting was done by my hands. From building the wooden frame to stretching the unprimed canvas and prepping the canvas surface for painting, my practice is intentional.

Do the paintings have a finish?

Yes. With few exceptions, I apply a Gloss Varnish to paintings once they are sold.

I use Liquitex Professional Gloss Varnish for Acrylic paintings. This helps protect against UV damage, as well as allowing you to clean the painting with a gentle, lightly-damp cloth if necessary.

For oil pastel paintings, I use 2-3 layers of Winsor & Newton Professional Dammar Varnish.

Allow 7-14 days before shipment to ensure the painting is completely dry for packaging.
